The
Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language
is an online course for anyone intending to work as an English
Language teacher. It is a complete course for those with little
or no teaching experience or anyone seeking an introduction
to teaching English.
The course covers the basics of EFL teaching and, unlike other
distance learning courses, offers advice on how to tackle
more advanced TEFL qualifications, plus sections on living/working
abroad, and finding work.

What does the course consist of?
It consists of an introductory unit and four further text units
with nine written assignments. Each unit will have relevant articles,
examples of teaching materials and and an assignment at the end
of the unit. The assignments are mostly short essays. You are required
to pass the minimum requirements of each assignment in order to
proceed to the next unit. Upon completion of the course, you will
receive the certificate and a reference to aid your job search.

approximately 9 written assignments, a few exercises and readings
to be completed.
What are the requirements?
You are required to have either a GCE 'A' or 'AO' Level or
equivalent pass in English. Or you will be required to take and
pass the Norwood English Language Proficiency
Test.
What is the duration of the course?
The duration of the course actually depends on you. It depends
on how long you take to finish the assignment for each unit. On
the average, the student will take about 3 - 4 months to complete
the course. You set the pace based on your own time schedule.
